About

This December, Māoriland Charitable Trust is running Cultural Based Digital Workshops for youth aged 14 - 23.

At this one day workshop, you’ll work with Aboriginal Australia’s indigiLAB, and a Māori drone operator to learn about these new filmmaking technologies, how to use them and what cool stuff you could make from them.

You’ll also be asked to input into writing an Indigenous Code of Ethics by Youth for this technology - possibly a world first!

It’s FREE, but only the keen need apply. Only 20 places are available.

Māoriland Charitable Trust

Māoriland Charitable Trust operates the Māoriland Film Festival - an International Indigenous Film festival that celebrates Indigenous voices and storytelling in film. Each March, Māoriland brings films and their creators to Ōtaki on New Zealand’s Kapiti Coast for five days of screenings, workshops and special events.

During the year Māoriland runs events at the Māoriland Hub, filmmaking and other opportunities for youth.

indigiLAB, are working to create a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians are leading in science, technology and digital innovation. They do this by providing education, training, and opportunities for Indigenous communities in science, technology and innovation space.
