This is the first graffiti competition to be held in Tāmaki.

Submit your winning sketch or design before the deadline of midnight on the 23 January. Judges will select two winners only. The winners will who will be announced via Facebook Live on the 25 January at 12 pm.

The First Prize is $200 cash.

The word for our graffiti battle is "UPTO" so get your sketches in before midnight Monday 23 January by dropping it off at Te Oro or scan and email it to info@teoro.org.nz.

The best 2 sketches will be chosen on Wednesday 25th of January and the 2 winners will get to battle it out for 1st place at the Mai Summer Jam on Saturday 28th of January in Point England.

The two winners will go head-to-head on Saturday 28 January, in a live graffiti battle, where there can be only one champion.

Te Oro will provide all paint and 'legal' walls for the graf battle at Pt England Reserve as part of the Mai FM Music in Parks event on the 28 Jan.

Gary Silipa

Gary Silipa is a visual artist from Auckland, born and raised in Tāmaki.

He is a member of TMD and identifies with being a Post-Graffiti Pacific artist where he’s spent the last few years investigating his art practice outside of graffiti.

Gary keeps busy teaching and making art, and running the first art gallery in Tāmaki which he founded in 2015 – The Good, The Bad.
