About
This new exhibition by Shruti Yatri takes its title from the Hindi word 'Ujala' meaning light. The exhibition celebrates Diwali, the Indian festival of lights at Te Oro in Glen Innes.
The works were created by Indian born, Auckland artist Yatri. His layered and textured paintings reveal a fusion of worlds, languages, and styles through the entangled concepts of spirituality and whakapapa.
Te Oro
The long-held community dream of a music and arts centre for young people in Glen Innes is here.
In this multi-purpose space, young people and the local community can come together to perform, practise and learn the arts; express their creativity and talents; and celebrate their cultures.
