Aotearoa Bone and Stone Carving Academy -ABSCA is a Māori-owned carving academy dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the traditional art of bone and stone carving in Aotearoa New Zealand. We provide hands-on carving experiences and workshops where people can learn traditional techniques while creating their own meaningful taonga. Our workshops include Pounamu carving, bone carving, fish hooks, rei niho, and other traditional Māori-inspired forms. We work with schools, community groups, businesses, Tourists, and organisations throughout Aotearoa, creating welcoming spaces for people to connect with Māori culture, creativity, and each other.
