Bboy Simba aka Daniel Jang
Hi, I’m Simba — a b-boy and multi disciplinary media artist.
I started breaking when I was 14. School was never really my place, I struggled with low grades and never felt like I fit into the system. But when I found dance, everything changed.
Breaking gave me something to work for, something to grow with. It took me to places I never expected and taught me lessons I didn’t even know I needed.
Dance is more than movement, it’s medicine. It teaches you how important it is to move your body, to train, to stay active, and to look after yourself. Through breaking, I learned discipline, consistency, and how to push myself even when things get hard. But I also learned how important it is to have fun, to enjoy the process, and to stay connected to the culture.
Breaking taught me humility, how to lose battles with respect and take lessons from every moment. It also taught me gratitude, to celebrate wins, big or small, and appreciate the journey that leads to them. For me, breaking isn’t just a dance. It’s a lifestyle, a community, and a way to stay grounded. It shaped who I am, and now I use media and storytelling to share those experiences
and the culture that raised me.
